Sifu Sharif Bey, head instructor of the Central New York Branch of Yee's Hung Ga Kung Fu Association, is a senior inner door disciple of Master Frank Yee Chee Wai of Toisan, Guandong Province, Peoples Republic of China, fourth generation from the famous Chinese folk hero, Wong Fei Hung. Beginning his martial training at the age of 5, and having studied Wing Chun, Hok Chan Kuntao, and Lam Sai Wing Hung Ga, Mr. Bey has devoted himself to practicing, teaching and preserving the traditional Tang Fung lineage of Hung Ga Kuen.

Hung Ga Kuen

(Hung family Fist), one of the fiercest fighting systems in Southern China, utilizes the techniques of the Five animals and Five Elements. It combines hard and soft techniques to achieve an effective and complete system of health and defense. Hung Ga Kuen develops a healthy body, creates internal power, and produces a clear focused mind. Its effectiveness is well documented in today's martial arts world. The system incorporates the classical 5 animals of Shaolin: Tiger, Crane, Leopard, Snake and Dragon. Each animal has a particular characteristic and action which are emulated in various applications.

When Animals Attack Rotation: Tiger
Tiger is one of the major animals of Hung Ga, the others being dragon, snake, leopard, and crane.  Sifu Bey will teach techniques that expose students to the tiger’s emphasis on skeletal force, breath control, and fighting spirit.  He will cover both straight forward White Tiger techniques and craftier Black Tiger techniques.

1 Hour Seminar:  Hung Hei Kwun’s Tiger & Crane
These techniques are straight from Hung Ga’s founder!  They emphasis the hard, rigid power of the tiger and the flexible, whipping energy of the crane.  These two animals are emphasized in Hung Ga because they exemplify the Hung Ga axiom, “strong but not stiff, fast but not weak.”  The seminar will cover the history of the techniques, drills for cultivating the techniques, and applications of the movements.
