Roy Goldberg Sensei

Goldberg (Shingen) Sensei, trained in Miyama Ryu JuJitsu under its originator Shinan A. Pereira for eleven years. Miyama Ryu is an eclectic system of JuJitsu based on Takenouchi Ryu, Sosuishitsu Ryu, Judo and Aikido. Goldberg Sensei has studied Aikido at the United States Federation Headquarters under the direction of Yamada Shihan and his senior students. He was also fortunate to take classes with other leading Aikido and JuJutsu instructors to include Osawa, head instructor of the Aikikai in Japan, Gozo Shioda, Morihiro Saito, and Kissomaru Ueshiba as well as other direct students of O' Sensei.

Goldberg Sensei was an instructor for the New York City Police Department (NYPD) Police Club, where he worked with NYPD Emergency Services Unit (ESU). He conducted quarterly seminars for U.S. Special Forces, to include U.S.M.C. Force Recon, and U.S. Navy SEALS. In addition, Goldberg Sensei trained and instructed the Head of Security for the 56th Secretary of State. He currently trains Federal Law Enforcement Agents from various agencies consisting of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Goldberg (Shingen) Sensei is the East Coast Representative and Regional Instructor of the North American Daito Ryu Aiki JuJutsu Kodo Kai. He is the highest ranking student of Hawayo Kiyama Shihan, the president and chief Instructor of North American Daito Ryu Aiki JuJutsu Kodo Kai whom he continues to train under.

Goldberg (Shingen) Sensei was given the name of Shingen by the Menkyo Kaiden when he was given his Hiden Mokuroku. He is honored to train at the Hombu Dojo in Kitami, Japan for the past 20 years. He has trained with the leading Daito Ryu Shihans in Japan including Yoskei Inowoe Menkyo Kaiden, Headmaster of Kodo Kai. Goldberg Sensei's goal is to pass down Daito Ryu (Japan's National Treasure) to serious students, as presented to him by the Hombu Dojo and Kiyama Shihan.  Sensei believes that in the martial arts, one teaches only to continue his own unfinished study.

Goldberg Sensei aspires to transmit the techniques of Daito Ryu Aiki Jujitsu, the beautiful secret art and national Treasure of Japan. He currently trains in a traditional Dojo with four of his senior students, Manual Jimenez, Gino Goyco, Neil Aronin and Jason Martinez. In addition to his senior students he has several study groups throughout the East Coast.
