Sifu Steven Nacua

A hawaiian naitive, Sifu Nacua was born on the island of Kauai and beegan martial arts training at the age of 9. His first training came under Sensei Oyasato in Kodokan Judo, and under his grandfather, Ambrosio Mirafuentes in Escrima, which he studied until he was 15. From 1960-67 Sifu Nacua studied Kajukenbo under instructor Frances Hosaka. That same year he moved to Honolulu to attend the University of Hawaii, where he earned his degree in architecture. During that time he continiued his training under Sifu Alfred Delacrua, learning Kajukenbo Gung Fu Chuan Fa, the Kung Fu side of Kajukenbo. That same year he was introduced to and become a student of Sifu Cheuk T. Tse, who taught Sifu Nacua the art of Bok Hok Pai, or Tibetan White Crane, which is akin to Hop Gar. In 1975, Sifu Nacua devoted all of his energies to learning from Sifu Tse, who still practices and teaches Chinese Medicine in Honolulu. He also has studied Choi Lee Fat under Professor Ho Ngau.
