Ryu Te Renmei
Ryute Renmei is Okinawa-Te—classical karate from Okinawa. It focuses on the both open-hand and weapon training, and places great emphasis on mediation and good character. Using often unseen interpretations of motions buried deep within kata, Ryute Renmei focuses on Kyusho Jitsu (“vital force striking”) and Tuite Jitsu (grappling) for effective life protection. This is a lifelong path of self-discovery.

Defending Bearhugs and Headlocks Rotation
When interpreted to the self-defense context, ancient kata hold hidden movements for defending grabbing attacks from the front and behind.  Kyoshi Mansfield will focus on the bunkai—martial applications—hidden in Okinawan kata movements, movements that specifically address standing bearhugs and headlocks.  These movements include ways to distract the opponent, followed by tuite and kyusho applications.

Nunchuck Grappling
While the nunchuka can be can effective striking tool, they were more often used as grappling devices, especially since nunchuka techniques were designed to defeat an armored assailant.  Kyoshi Mansfield will teach participants how to derive grappling techniques from nunchuka kata, and how to apply those techniques to establish control over the opponent.
