Allen Wong has been a student of the Chinese arts (primarily Northern Shaolin) for over 21 years. The styles which he studies include Shaolin Boxing, & San Shou, Long Fists, Cross Battle Fists, Eagle Claw, Praying Mantis, Black Tiger Fists, Choy Lay Fut, Tiger Claw, and Drunken Fists. He has studied (not as extensively) Karate (Seido and Shotokan), and has trained with the International Tae Kwon Do Federation. Through Sifu Chan Sai Wah, Allen has had the privilege and honor to meet and train with grandmasters Chan Pui, Dennis Brown, and the late Grandmaster Lee Kwoon Hung. A Ph.D. Student and part-time lecturer at Ualbany, Allen has also had the privilege of meeting local masters and mentors here in the Northeast and looks forward to learning from them on every given opportunity.

Since 2000, Allen has competed at different U.S. national championships such as the Diamond Nationals and the U.S. Capitol Classics in the divisions of sparring, traditional forms, and traditional weapons and has been fortunate and blessed to have placed in the top three annually during the 2000 through 2007 time span.

An advocate of traditional arts, Allen will (1) teach a section of a traditional Northern Shaolin Boxing form, and (2) illustrate some of the apparent and latent applications of the movements of the form.

Praying Mantis:
Allen will teach core movements of a traditional northern praying mantis system, where he will explain applications to proper foundation development, and combat applications of those movements. 

Long fist:
In this session, Allen will teach a section of a traditional northern Long Fist sequence.  In addition, he will also interpret some of the applications of the form for proper foundation development, as well as combat applications.
