Seminar 1- The Arm Break Series

Sensei Borter will teach his “Arm Break” locking flow drill that will show you 10 different ways to break, hyperextend, torque, wrench, and lock an attackers arm and shoulder. Then, within this drill, you will learn the principles, concepts and methods to make your arm break techniques even more effective and devastating.

 

Seminar 2- Dynamic Trapping

Sensei Borter will teach the first level of the Dynamic Trapping set.  This set is designed to teach basic, functional trapping and develop the essential skills you need in a close quarter self-defense situation. This set will walk you through you 10 different ways to trap, clear, and control an attackers arms and hands, deal with the first, second, and “third” hand blocks, get past that barrier, and close the gap to strike, lock, takedown, and control your opponent.

Biography

 

John Borter is the owner and head instructor at the Modern Self-Defense Academy in Albany, NY. He holds the rank of 6th degree blackbelt, and blackbelt ranks in a number of martial arts including Modern Jujitsu, Small Circle Jujitsu, Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Combat Hapkido, and Kyusho-Jitsu. He also holds Instructor Certifications in Military Combatives and Police Defensive Tactics and is a certified self-defense instructor.

 

Over the years, Mr. Borter’s approach has evolved, modernized, and developed into the system Modern Self-Defense Concepts.  An innovative and eclectic martial art, MSDC adapts and integrates elements, principles, and concepts from a number of martial arts and self-defense systems into a well-rounded, functional, and complete approach to self-defense.

Mr. Borter is also the Director of ABC Women’s Self-Defense, a popular, widely-taught, and critically acclaimed women’s self-defense and empowerment program.  In addition, he is the director and head instructor for the PressurePoint Self-Defense (PPSD) and PressurePoint Defensive Tactics (PPDT) Systems. Both systems have been widely taught to civilians, professionals, law enforcement, military, and security personnel. He also offers instruction and certification for law enforcement and civilians in the use of the Key-Baton Self-Defense Keychain

 

Mr. Borter has been associated with a number of national and international martial arts organizations and is still a member in good standing with many of these affiliations today. In 1997, he was inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame for “Outstanding Contributions to the Martial Arts”.
